New free class! Make a Father’s Day Apron set! This Michaels/Silhouette live online class was held live on Thursday, June 5th 2025, at 11am MDT (12pm CDT).

Class Replay:

Find links to class supplies below this video. Note: I did not mention this in the class, but trim the leading edge of a new roll of heat transfer vinyl before loading it in the machine, so it is perfectly straight and has no angle from the manufacturer’s cut. This is likely the cause of the vinyl going off-track before the cutting was finished. Sorry!

Class Description:

Celebrate Dad with a handmade touch! In this fun and beginner-friendly class, I will guide you step-by-step through creating a custom Father’s Day apron—and a matching “assistant” version—using your Silhouette machine.

You’ll learn how to navigate Silhouette Studio, including my favorite tips and tricks for resizing and testing designs for heat transfer vinyl (HTV). Then we’ll walk through cutting and applying the HTV design using either a heat press or a household iron.

I’ll demonstrate using a Silhouette Cameo 5, but any Silhouette machine will work for this project. Perfect for gift-giving, memory-making, and crafting with love!

Supplies:

Class Length:  60 minutes

Class Level:  Beginner

I’ve got another free Michaels/Silhouette class coming up! This time I’ll teach you how to make crepe paper crocuses with the Silhouette Cameo 5 and Rotary Blade. It will be a live online class on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at 11am MT / 12pm CT.

Missed it or need a review? Watch below. Be sure to scroll past the video for the supply list and other class information.

Class Description:

Get to know the Silhouette Rotary Blade while creating beautiful springtime crocuses! Crepe paper is a specialty material that requires the Rotary Blade when cutting with a Silhouette machine. Its textured grain allows for stretching, making realistic blooms, but it can’t be cut with a regular blade.

This class is perfect for crepe-paper beginners and Silhouette users of all skill levels. I will guide you through setting up your design in Silhouette Studio, ensuring a successful cut, and then show you how to shape and assemble a complete crocus.

Requirements:

  • Silhouette Rotary Blade
  • Compatible Silhouette machine: Cameo 5, Cameo 4, Cameo Pro MK-II, or Curio 2 (Kelly will demonstrate with the Silhouette Cameo 5)
  • Silhouette Studio Software installed on your computer
  • Design ID #1244741 downloaded and ready to use
  • Other supplies listed
