December Marks Record High in Illegal Immigration: The Worst Month in History

The U.S.-Mexico border is experiencing an extreme surge in the number of people flowing through Central America to cross it. There were 276,000 people detained at the border in December, the highest ever recorded, part of no less than 785,000 migrant encounters since the fiscal year began on October 1, 2023. The Biden administration claims the border is “operationally secure.” But the border crisis is so bad that members of the GOP are criticizing Biden for going on vacation in St. Croix at this time, with some Republicans calling him out on social media for relaxing on a Caribbean vacation while the situation at the southern border gets worse. The President’s vacation when the borders are in disarray has raised eyebrows, to say the least.
