Emotional Moment as Reba McEntire Watches 16 Year-Old Perform Her Song on ‘The Voice’

The source you trust Political Insider “The Voice” is back on air! Country singer Reba McEntire is serving as a coach in Season 24, and the show is already off to an emotional start. The live shows began on Monday night, and during the first one, McEntire was brought to tears by one contestant.

16 year old Ruby Leigh performed Reba’s 1990 single “You Lie,” and Reba couldn’t help but be emotional about it. “You blew it out of the water,” she said, adding “Gwen and I are bawling!”

The red carpet also featured some talk about McEntire and other coaches’ thoughts. McEntire said, “I really couldn’t tell you [who might win].” John Legend said, “The depth of the talent this season is better than I’ve ever seen it on this show since I’ve been here… I’m so impressed with our artists this year.”

This is Reba’s first time on the show, and she said about replacing Blake Shelton as coach, “It’s a lot of pressure, because nobody can replace Blake Shelton…” However, Stefani, who is married to Shelton, praised McEntire before the live show for how well she’s doing on the program.
