FAA Sources: Secretary Buttigieg’s DEI Focus Compromises Air Safety

The commercial air travel industry has been facing a decrease in public confidence after facing alarming safety issues similar to what the cruise lines faced. One recent event that has raised concerns is when a door blew off an Alaska Airlines flight, catching the attention of the public and Congress. There have been questions about the cause of the recent safety lapses, including attention to detail, aging airframes, or an understaffed workforce. However, journalist Matt Walsh, of the Daily Wire, has obtained internal footage from a meeting in 2022 in which senior officials at the FAA’s Flight Program Operations division discussed diversifying the pilot and flight operations workforce. The diversity that was being sought was purely based on skin color and gender.

The internal footage reveals that FAA acting deputy chief operating officer Angela McCullough was focused on changing the white-male-dominated dynamic of the Flight Operations. This has led to the discomfort of some individuals within the industry and even has had implications during the probationary period of new pilots.

In addition to the internal footage, sources have pointed out examples of the negative effects of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in air travel. Some pilots are concerned about the unfair double standards and discrimination that are being promoted, while others are worried about the implications for recruitment and safety. There are also concerns raised about the recruitment of individuals with severe mental disabilities to the FAA.

Matt Walsh warns that the combination of incompetence and anti-white discrimination could eventually lead to a major air disaster, prompting him to avoid commercial air travel in favor of road trips.
