Former Trump Advisor Expresses Utter Disappointment with Republicans’ Unfulfilled Promises

Opinion

Peter Navarro, former trade adviser and White House official for President Donald Trump and popular political commentator, is angry with new Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Republicans. The disappointment was present during an interview on the ‘War Room’ podcast. Navarro expressed concern about the failure to deliver on issues like the fiscal cliff, communist China, and the border. He was also critical of the lack of comprehension of the gravity of the situation on Capitol Hill, calling it a mess.

Navarro’s disappointment is shared by other conservatives and he made a valid point about Republicans’ ineffective action to curtail runaway spending and reduce the debt. Democrats aren’t expected to take action in this regard, which leaves the responsibility to Republicans. However, there has been a lack of significant progress besides periodic campaign promises. Concerns about the broken border were raised, highlighting the massive cost it incurs on taxpayers. The report from the House Homeland Security Committee revealing that the ongoing migrant crisis could cost hundreds of billions of dollars each year.

In addition, over 2.4 million migrant encounters were recorded at the southern border in FY 23. The financial costs attributed to the Biden administration’s policies are shouldered by American citizens and lawful residents. The nightmare at the border continues, with numerous cases of child sex predators and the smuggling of weapons and body armor. Despite these alarming concerns, Republicans have not taken any significant action.
