As progressive left erodes historical heroes and culture, Christopher Columbus is dubbed genocidal colonizer, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson as repulsive slave owners, and Martin Luther King, Jr. branded an adulterer. The cancellation standards apply to Harvey Milk, a liar who supported a homicidal cult leader; FDR, who imprisoned Japanese Americans; President Bill Clinton, accused of sexual harassment, and Juanita Broaddrick’s rape; and Barack Obama, a war criminal responsible for hundreds of civilian deaths in drone strikes. The left should likely reevaluate its use of cancellation standards.
