Back in 2021, the Morgan Wallen was caught saying the N-word and targeted by cancel culture. However, he is “actually mad” about his treatment thereafter, he told Billboard.
Wallen Sounds Off
He emphasized that he never intended to make excuses and was not that person, feeling mad about the misrepresentation by people who did not know him.
“I put myself in just such a s— spot, you know? Like, ‘You really messed up here, guy.’ If I was that guy, then I wouldn’t have cared,” Wallen continued. “I wouldn’t have apologized. I wouldn’t have done any of that if I really was that guy that people were saying about me.”

‘Not The Same Person I Am Now’
He emphasized that he was not the same person shown in the video. After rehab and donation to Black-affiliated groups, Wallen experienced an increase in sales.
“I don’t think I realized that, at least not at that grand of a scale at the time,” he explained. “I [learned] how much my words matter.”
Now, his popularity in country music continues to grow, bringing his unique style to his fans.

Wallen’s Vocal Break
Earlier in 2021, he had to take a six week break for vocal cord injuries. But he has since recovered, hoping to resume performances in 2024.
