It was a difficult Christmas holiday for the radically liberal comedian Kathy Griffin, as she filed for divorce from her husband of nearly four years Randy Back, who is 18 years her junior. Now, the truth behind their bitter divorce has come to light.
Truth Behind Gibson’s Divorce
Griffin, 63, cited “irreconcilable differences” when she filed for divorce from Bick, a 45 year-old marketing executive, last Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing their date of separation as December 22. This came nearly four years after they got married on New Year’s Day in 2020. Sources close to Griffin are saying that she felt that she had no other option but to file for divorce after “growing apart” from Bick.
“Kathy was in love and is still in love with her ex and as heartbroken she is with how this all has turned out, Kathy loves living life,” an insider told Daily Mail.
“She always wants to have fun. She wants to travel and do things with a man she loves who has the same aspirations,” the source continued. “Kathy is just over 60 but still feels in her thirties and wants to enjoy life and has a fun and focused outlook on life and Randy did share that with her.”
“As of late, Randy was more content with being a homebody and instead of growing together, they started growing apart,” the insider added. “Kathy hates that it has ended this way, but she needed to be Kathy again, and this was the only way she was going to get there.”

Griffin’s History With Bick
Griffin met Bick at a food and wine festival back in 2011, and their 2020 wedding was officiated by the “Grace & Frankie” star Lily Tomlin. Check out their wedding for yourself in the video below.
Griffin had previously told People Magazine in 2016 that she thought Bick was a “man-w***e” when she first met him.
“Well, you know I didn’t think it would last [because] he’s 18 years younger than I am!” Griffin added at the time. “We’ve been together five years now, and we have a great time, and he’s very sweet and very mellow. He’s like a regular guy, you know, he’s like a real guy. He’s not like a Hollywood guy.”

Bick Was Griffin’s Manager
In June of last year, Griffin performed a sold-out show in Las Vegas, Nevada, her first in five years.
“You guys, I’m so f ing grateful to this audience. I still can’t get over it. My first show in five long years!” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I don’t have an agent, manager or publicist anymore. My husband is my tour manager and I negotiated the deal myself.”
“No deal for a special or livestream of it, but the show was sold out because real, live people actually showed up!” she added. “After an international political scandal and surviving lung cancer, I finally felt like I was home.”
The “international political scandal” that Griffin is referring to was the infamous photoshoot that she took part in back in 2017 in which she posed with the simulated severed head of the then-President Donald Trump. In the years since then, Griffin hasn’t been able to stop talking about this scandal, as she whines about the backlash that she received for it seemingly any chance she gets.
It’s difficult to imagine why anyone would ever want to be married to someone like Griffin. In the end, Bick is likely better off without her, just like the rest of us are!
