Why Country Music Resonates with Patriotic Americans: Insights from Jason Aldean

Aldean Explains Appeal Of Country Music

Aldean, 46, explained to Fox News that country music appeals to patriots everywhere because it is a genre that is for the “everyman” and that it is “blue collar music” that can be enjoyed by all. Aldean saw this firsthand over the summer, when his anti-woke anthem “Try That In A Small Town” became a massive hit, and he feels that he knows exactly why it resonated with so many.

“I just think there’s a lot of people out there that just want to go to work and come home, raise their kids, feel comfortable about sending their kids to school and knowing that they’re going to come home,” Aldean said. “Or let their kids go to a movie on a weekend and not worry about something crazy happening to them in the parking lot or inside a movie theater.”

“It’s just we’re kind of living in the Wild West right now, and I think people are just kind of tired of it,” he continued. “There’s just constant chaos and something going on. Somebody is always pissed off about something, and it’s just one of those songs where there’s a lot of people that could relate to that because they’re just sick of it.”

Aldean Slams ‘Chaos’ In Liberal-Run Cities

Aldean went on to say that the constant “chaos” that is happening in liberal-run cities all over America simply would not “fly” in the small towns of this great nation.

Aldean has long been open about how difficult it is to be an open conservative in an entertainment world that is increasingly run by the left.

“At some point it’s gotten to where if you’re a conservative in this business, you’re not allowed to speak,” Aldean said in 2021, according to Music Mayhem. “Trust me, I have a lot of friends in this business that think the way I think, and a lot of them are really scared to stand up and say anything for fear of backlash or whatever the case may be.”

“To me, it’s hard for to go lay my head down at night with a clear conscience, feeling like I’m a coward for not saying the things that I want to say, or I feel like need to be said,” he added.

Dolly Parton Agrees About Appeal Of Country Music

When it comes to the appeal of country music, the legendary Dolly Parton feels similarly to Aldean about why it appeals to the “everyman.”

“You can dance to it, you can cry to it, you can make love to it, you can play it at a funeral,” Parton once said of country music.

“I think it’s great,” she told The Hollywood Reporter when asked about the success of Aldean’s song. “I feel the same way about that as I do about people and changes and whoever. I’m just proud that country music is that popular.”

“Everybody has a right to sing it, if they feel it, and if they love it,” she added. “If you can sing country music and you love it, I’m just proud that it’s become big.”

Aldean is spot-on in both his politics and on his reasoning as to why country music appeals to so many. If only there were more celebrities out there with as good a head on their shoulders as he has!
