Craft Along: Pumpkin Treat Box

I’ve got a new Silhouette Craft Along class showing you how to make a Pumpkin Treat Box. This class uses the new Portrait 4! You can also use any older model of Portrait or any Cameo to make this easy cardstock craft. This is just in time for Halloween, or make these for your Thanksgiving table!

Written Instructions for Pumpkin Treat Box:

Software:

    1. In Silhouette Studio with a new document open, set Machine to Portrait 4, Cutting Mat to Portrait 4, Media Size to Letter. (Set to the machine and mat you are actually using.)
    2. Open #21556 Pumpkin Box
    3. Move leaf piece to side, make duplicate of box and leaf
    4. Rotate upper pumpkin piece 90 degrees right
    5. Center on page towards top
    6. Rotate duplicate pumpkin piece 90 degrees left
    7. Position just below first pumpkin
    8. Send Panel: Material = Cardstock (Blade 3-4, Force 30, Speed 5); Action = Cut; Tool = Autoblade
    9. Place letter paper on mat + load
    10. Test Cut, then Send to Cut full design when ready
    11. Cut leaves next by rearranging the pieces in the Design Page, then load green paper before sending to cut on appropriate settings

Assembly:

    1. Fold on perforated lines
    2. Panels = mountain folds; Inside = mountain folds as you tuck center inwards
    3. Use tape runner AND glue on glue tab (tuck under)
    4. Curl tips of leaves various directions with scraper tool
    5. Wrap some tape at tip of ribbon
    6. Tie knot in end of ribbon
    7. Thread ribbon through holes, adding one layer at a time
    8. Fill with candy before closing up
    9. Thread through leaf hole
    10. Tie knot by pinching at base of ribbon while drawing knot closed
    11. Snip off at angle while folding ribbon in half to create even tips
